Art is all around us… sculptures, murals, painted shamrocks on pavement, and playgrounds filled with color, all hidden in plain sight in Dublin GA.

1. Tumbling Books Art Sculpture

Visual art and reading inspire the human soul. Located outside the children’s center at the Laurens County Library, stands Tumbling Books. Crafted of solid metal and painted in bright primary colors, artist Gary Blackburn created it under the direction of donors Don and Ann Johnson. It sits tucked behind Bellevue Avenue on the library grounds as a symbol of Ann’s love for libraries.

2. At your Leisure

A world of art awaits at the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center. Located at 1826 Veterans Boulevard, visitors can rest and reflect. A symbol of unity and brotherhood, Juan Lleras created The Future is in our Hands, a metal sculpture with hands outstretched to the sky. Feeling energized? Lake Leisure Park features a lake with bridge and an inclusive playground people of all abilities can explore.

3. Art of Dudley Mural

Celebrating Dudley’s history with a cardinal, agricultural scenes, and vintage businesses, this mural welcomes visitors along Highway 80. Just a short drive from Dublin, GA, this mural was installed to commemorate Dudley’s 100th birthday and its citizens.

4. Train Your Dragon

Let your imagination loose.

Let your inner child romp in this art filled playground located at the corner of Rowe and Cherry Streets. From swing sets festooned with colorful polka dots to a color breathing dragon made of old tires created by Doug and Jean Wolfe to a lending little library, kids of any age will have a heap of outdoor fun at Lonnie G. Woodum Park.

5. Paved with Green

Dance, sing, and find your wee bit of Irish in downtown where the streets are literally green. Every year, the St. Patrick’s Festival Committee partners with the City of Dublin Fire Department to paint frolicking shamrocks down Jackson and Madison Streets. From ribbons of emerald to shamrock streets, it’s impossible to stroll Downtown Dublin without feeling the St. Paddy’s spirit! Let your inner leprechaun leap with all these St. Patrick’s events.
