From Birmingham Jail
PLAY BEGINS AT 7 PM
In April 1963, the Civil Rights Campaign in Birmingham, Alabama was intensifying on the city’s streets as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. sat in his jail cell, imprisoned for participating in the nonviolent demonstrations against segregation, composing a letter in response to criticisms of the campaign. In honor of Black History Month, watch the recreation of a powerful piece of history that unfolded during this time of unrest.
A Midsummer Night’s Dream
PLAY BEGINS AT 8:30 PM
Finish the theatrical night on a lighter note with Shakespeare’s comedic tale which includes mischievous fairies, spells and love triangles set in a woodland scene under the light of the moon. The play consists of multiple storylines interconnected by a wedding celebration of Duke Theseus of Athens and the Amazon queen, Hippolyta.
Concessions will be available for purchase, and all proceeds from concession sales benefit future programming at Theatre Dublin. For additional performances scheduled at Theatre Dublin, visit theatredublinga.com
