With a rich history spanning seven decades, the Atlanta Pops Orchestra has captivated audiences throughout the world with a diverse repertoire of popular music.

Special Guest

An Augusta, GA native, Timothy Miller is an active performer with both national and international credits. Concert performances include tenor soloist in Beethoven’s ninth symphony, Handel’s Messiah, and a concert version of excerpts from Richard Strauss’ Der Rosenkavalier performed with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. Perhaps most widely recognized for his stirring renditions of “God Bless America” during the seventh inning stretch of Atlanta Braves home games, Miller has extended his exposure well beyond the concert stage. Soloist for two Georgia Gubernatorial Inauguration Ceremonies, featured artist promos for Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim, and featured artist in the December 2012 edition of The Atlantan Magazine “Patrons and Players” rounds out a growing list of memorable career highlights. In addition to being a sought after performer, Mr. Miller is also an Assistant Professor of Voice and Music at his alma mater Morehouse College.

Atlanta Pops Orchestra

In 1944, French immigrant Albert Coleman accepted the position of Musical Director for WSB Radio in Atlanta and set about forming an orchestra that would include Atlanta’s best musicians and be available for radio dates, public concerts and free performances for the benefit of young people and aspiring musicians. Albert established his first Atlanta Pops in 1945 and led that ensemble for 55 years. During his tenure, Albert was responsible for discovering and contributing to the careers of many young artists. His contributions won him the honor of membership in the Georgia Music Hall of Fame.
