New Years Eve Shamrock Drop in Downtown Dublin is BACK!
Ring in the New Year with friends old and new in Downtown Dublin GA during New Year’s Eve Shamrock Drop! Admission is free, and all ages are welcome when Jackson Street in Downtown Dublin GA hosts 2023’s farewell street party!
A New Year Tradition
Be awed as a brilliantly lit shamrock descends from atop the historic Fred Roberts building at midnight! Bring a lawn chair or blanket to set your family up in Bicentennial Plaza or Founders Park around Theatre Dublin! Popcorn will be popping’ for a kiddie friendly, FREE “Gru” year movie showing, Minions inside Theatre Dublin at 5:30 PM, and The Soul Shine Band will have you dancing under the stars from 8 PM, right into the New Year in Downtown Dublin GA.
NYE is a night of indulgence, and food truck options will be onsite to guide you on a culinary journey to bid farewell to the old year!
We’re not playing games with the new year, but we will be celebrating high scores with Ace Express Gaming truck, the ultimate video game party experience!
Usher in 2024 Dublin-style! Way back in the day, it was a tradition to gather in front of Lauren’s County’s oldest bank, Farmers and Merchants Bank, on New Year’s Eve to watch the clock turn to midnight. Originally located in Downtown Dublin on Jackson Street, Farmers and Merchants Bank is no more, but the Downtown Dublin Development Authority, Main Street Dublin, and City of Dublin brought the tradition back with New Year’s Eve Shamrock Drop at the Fred Roberts!
Toast to The Stars
The brightly lit shamrock descends from the top of the Fred Roberts building to count down the clock and ring in the new year with a bubbly toast. But the party starts long before midnight! The fun begins a free movie at Theatre Dublin followed by music in Bicentennial Plaza. A portion of Bellevue Avenue (U.S. Highway 80) is closed off between Church Street and Monroe Street, so that guests can enjoy the event block party style. Lawn chairs and coolers are welcome. The official celebration takes place from 5 PM until midnight.
